Overdose
According to preliminary data from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (2021), drug overdose deaths in the United States increased 29% in 2020 resulting in more than 93,000 lives lost.
Drugs take the lives of more than 250 people per day, in 2019, more than half of overdose deaths involved multiple drugs (CDC, 2021).
Overdose events continued to rise across the country in 2020, surging along side the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Connecticut:
There were 1,531 confirmed drug overdose deaths in 2021. A 11.4% increase compared to 2020.
